Building a Classic JDM Dream: MotorTrend Channel's Journey with the Nissan Skyline GTR

In this episode of MotorTrend Channel, the guys are getting their hands on a rare gem - the Nissan Skyline GTR. They can't contain their excitement as they admire the stunning design of this early 90s beauty, with its sleek proportions and iconic styling. Their mission? To build a car that would make even the legendary Godzilla proud. They dream of creating a machine that could grace the pages of Super Street magazine, just like the GTRs of old. But before they can get started, they encounter a few hiccups. There's a coolant leak and a broken part, but these setbacks won't deter them.
The team is determined to pay homage to the Group A era and the golden age of JDM tuners. They want to capture that spirit and create a car that looks cool and handles like a dream. They've got a list of awesome parts lined up, but they don't want to go overboard. The stock form of the Skyline GTR is already a head-turner, so they just want to enhance its performance and give it a touch of that classic JDM style.
With the bumper removed and the boost leak fixed, they dive into the engine bay. They clean up the RB26 D engine and plan to add a front mount intercooler from GReddy, a key component that screams Group A. This will not only improve performance but also ensure a denser air charge for some serious horsepower gains. The guys are making progress, and with each step, they're getting closer to their goal of building a Skyline GTR that's worthy of the spotlight.
