Today, ladies and gentlemen, we have a real treat for you. Saabkyle04 is back with another one of his in-depth reviews, and this time, he's taking us on a journey into the world of exhaust systems. But not just any exhaust system, mind you. We're talking about the one on his magnificent 89 Chevrolet S10 Resto mod project.
Under the hood of this beast lies a 6L LS-based V8 engine, or as Saabkyle04 likes to call it, an lq4. Now, this is no ordinary LS motor, my friends. It's an iron block truck motor, similar to the 5.3 or some versions of the 6.2. Yes, it may not have the aluminum block and heads of a true LS motor, but fear not, for it has been upgraded with a cam that gives it a power output in the low to mid 400 horsepower range. And let me tell you, it sounds absolutely glorious.
But let's get down to business, shall we? The star of the show today is the exhaust system, courtesy of Hooker Blackheart. This beauty is part of the Holly LS swap system for the first-generation S10. Now, technically, they don't make an exhaust for an extended cab S10, but Saabkyle04, being the resourceful guy that he is, simply added some extra pieces of pipe to make up for the extra length. And voila, a true dual exhaust system was born.
But that's not all, folks. This exhaust system comes with different style exits to suit your personal taste. Whether you prefer turn downs underneath the truck, a factory-style single side exhaust, or the straight-out duels like Saabkyle04 has, there's an option for everyone. And if you're like our host and have a penchant for shiny bits, you can even add some polished tips to really make a statement.
In conclusion, this video is a testament to Saabkyle04's dedication and passion for his Resto mod project. The exhaust system he has chosen not only enhances the performance of the truck but also delivers a symphony of engine notes that will make any petrolhead weak at the knees. So, my friends, sit back, relax, and enjoy the sweet sound of automotive perfection.
