In this latest installment from the Cleetus McFarland YouTube channel, the team finds themselves embroiled in a predicament of epic proportions. You see, they have acquired a set of NS and RTR Wheels, but alas, fate has dealt them a cruel hand. One of the wheels, it seems, possesses a different bolt pattern, rendering it useless for their purposes. However, fear not, for our intrepid heroes have a plan! They manage to scrounge up a 20-inch wheel from an old truck and locate a tire of the same diameter to ensure uniformity. The team is hopeful that this combination, although not ideal, will suffice for their upcoming race.
But wait, there's more! The tire they've procured happens to be from Ruby, a vehicle that participated in the Rocky Mountain race some five years ago. Despite its age, they believe it will still serve its purpose adequately, especially since it will be placed on the front left, the least critical position for their four-wheel drive system. To ensure the tire is in optimal condition, they decide to perform a burnout, applying some ATF to warm it up. Upon inspection, they discover that the tire is as hard as a rock, a testament to its durability.
With their makeshift tire combination in place, the team heads to the track for some testing. They observe that the oversized 120-inch wheel protrudes quite noticeably, but they remain undeterred. The first run proves to be eventful, with the tire picking up and causing some instability. Despite this, they manage a respectable 155 to the 2/8th mile. Determined to improve, they make adjustments to the shocks and attempt a second run. This time, the tire spin is even worse, but they still manage a faster time of 157. The team realizes that they need to address the issue of traction if they want to stand a chance in their upcoming race.
Enter Kyle from the Booster Boys, who has transformed a Tesla Plaid into a minivan. This formidable opponent, with its impressive power and sleek design, has challenged the team to a race. Undeterred by the odds, our heroes prepare themselves for the battle ahead. They make further adjustments to their F-150, including a third gear launch, and head to the starting line. The race is fierce, with both vehicles struggling to find traction off the line. However, the F-150 manages to secure a victory in the second race, much to their delight. Despite their efforts, they ultimately fall short in the final race, succumbing to the might of the minivan.
Defeated but not discouraged, the team reflects on their performance and vows to make improvements for future races. They discuss the need for slick tires and express their determination to come back stronger. And so, with heads held high and a burning desire for redemption, they bid farewell to the track, ready to face new challenges and conquer the world of racing once again.
