This is the Rivan R2, the younger sibling of the Rivan R1S, offering a more affordable entry into the world of electric SUVs. Priced at around $45,000, it's a steal compared to its larger counterpart. Despite its smaller size, the R2 retains the iconic Rivan styling, resembling the Tesla Model Y. Inside, the R2 boasts a sporty, minimalist interior with clever storage solutions like multiple glove boxes and a wireless cell phone charging pad. It's clear that Rivan has put a lot of thought into making the R2 practical and functional for everyday use.
Stepping into the R2, you'll notice the unique cockpit area with new controls on the steering column and steering wheel. The vehicle features two screens for infotainment and gauge cluster functions, with a special focus on camping features like Camp Courtesy and Super Dark mode. Rivan has gone the extra mile to cater to outdoor enthusiasts, ensuring that the R2 is not just a city slicker. Rear seat passengers are treated to a comfortable space with USB ports, climate vents, and rear heated seats, making long journeys a breeze.
Moving to the back of the R2, you'll find a power-operated rear window, generous cargo space, and convenient features like buttons to drop the rear seats and power ports for charging devices. The exterior design of the R2 is sleek and modern, with a beautifully integrated charge port door and a stylish roof spoiler. Despite its smaller stature, the R2 exudes the same cool, muscular vibe as the R1S, proving that good things do come in smaller packages. Under the hood, or rather, under the storage compartment, lies the heart of the R2 - a fully electric powertrain that promises a thrilling driving experience while staying true to Rivan's commitment to sustainability.
