In the latest episode of Larry Chen's channel, we are introduced to a mind-blowing build that will leave you speechless. Art from Vibrant Performance reached out to Larry and insisted that he shoot and feature this car. And boy, are we glad he did. This TransAm build is like nothing we've ever seen before. It's a whole different concept, a whole different realm.

The story behind this build is truly remarkable. Picture this: a rusted out drag car in Michigan, buried under two feet of snow. Larry's dad, with a stroke of genius, bought this car on eBay and embarked on a journey to transform it into something extraordinary. They stripped away the powertrain, sold it off, and were left with just the roof and some of the cow. They asked themselves, what do we really need? And the answer was simple: just a roof and a cow.

But here's where things get really interesting. The rest of the car is made of tubes. Yes, you heard that right. Tubes. It's like an LMPh car or a DTM car, but with the powertrain of an Indy car. And where did they get all these Indy car components, you ask? Well, Larry's dad worked in Indy car racing for 25 years and when the teams had no use for the parts anymore, he bought them for cheap. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.

The power plant of this beast is an LSR from late model engines, a racing version of the LSX. It's a full aluminum block steel sleeved engine built to handle a mind-boggling 2,000 horsepower and revving up to 9,000 RPM. And let's not forget the twin-turbo setup from Garrett. These guys mean business. The car has a fully custom chassis, meticulously crafted from sticks of steel. Larry, being the engineering student that he is, took on the task of welding the whole thing himself. And boy, did he do a fantastic job.

But that's not all. This car is not just about power and looks. It's also about functionality. It has twin radiators and a heat exchanger that handles water, engine oil, and gearbox oil. They even have a third device or heave spring in the front suspension to counteract the massive downforce this car generates. And let's not forget the brakes. While they're already good, they're planning to upgrade to a carbon ceramic brake package. These guys are not messing around.

The body of the car is a mix of steel and composite materials. The roof scoop, door panels, dash, trunk, front hood, and nose are all made of carbon fiber. The rest is steel, welded by Larry and his dad. It's a true labor of love. And the attention to detail is evident in every aspect of this build. From the functional aerodynamics to the thoughtfully designed cage work, this car is a work of art.

In conclusion, this TransAm build is a testament to the passion and dedication of Larry and his dad. They took a rusted out drag car buried under snow and turned it into a masterpiece. The combination of Indy car components, a powerful LSX engine, and a fully custom chassis make this car a force to be reckoned with. And let's not forget the stunning design and attention to detail. Larry and his dad have truly created something special. This is not just a car, it's a work of art on wheels.
